[Elecraft] K2 rear

Chris,
I don't know if there are a lot of photos of the rear of the K2, but
there are a few on my website www.w3fpr.com which show some bits and
pieces that may help with your question. There is a drawing in the K2
manual (download it from the Elecraft website)
On my website, the photos of the Smartcharger interface show part of the
KAT2 and internal battery which mount in the top cover of a QRP K2 - the
KIO2 option also fits into the top cover. Of course, with the KPA100
installed on the base K2, that option replaces the entire top cover (and
includes the KIO2 function).

Inside the K2, the KSB2, KNB2, and either the KAF2 or KDSP2 do not have
any added connection to the outside world, so they plug into the RF
Board with no evidence one way or another on the rear panel. The KAF2
or KDSP2 plugs vertically onto the Control Board (the board behind the
front panel board) One cannot have both options installed - they fit
into the same physical space. The KSB2 mounts on the right side of the
RF Board toward the front of the K2 - if you look at the photos, it is
the board with the 7 filter crystals. The KNB2 mounts more toward the
rear than the KSB2 board and is close to the right side panel.

The K60XV and the K160RX do involve connectors on the rear panel - the
K60XV adds RCA jacks for the transverter in and out connectors and the
K160RX adds a BNC jack for the RX ant. Both can be seen in the photos
of the "inards" of my K2 in my website articles dealing with CW PTT and
the Fixed Audio Output. The K60XV is on the left of center on the rear
panel, and the K160RX is the long narrow board to the right of the K2.
(Left and right are referenced with the front panel toward you).

I am certain there are other photos out there in cyberspace, but I
cannot recall other specific ones right now.

73,
Don W3FPR
