Great news, all!

It turns out that I didn't re-seat an inline connector properly, on the
front-panel mother-daughterboard interface, while I was installing the
KDVR3.

All is well again.

Kind personal regards to all the first responders.  I'll reciprocate as I'm
able.

PS: Oh, yes: I noticed that the AFX button turns ESSB on and off in the
CONFIG: TX ESSB menu.  Interesting.
