When listening to a CW signal initially in SSB mode and then switching 
to CW or CW-Reverse mode (with VFO OFS enabled), there will often be a 
small change in pitch. By far the greatest source of error is that the 
signal had not tuned exactly to the correct pitch while still in SSB 
mode.

Only one pitch of CW signal will give perfect matching between modes, 
and that is the sidetone pitch that has been configured for CW mode 
(using the PITCH button and VFO-B). If the CW signal is tuned *exactly* 
to that pitch while listening in SSB mode, there will be little or no 
change on switching to either CW or CW-Reverse.

In practice, normal CW mode works fine for the VHF/UHF bands where the 
VFO OFS feature is useful. It is *not* necessary to use CW-Reverse... 
which is fortunate, because some logging software doesn't recognise CW-R 
correctly, and may reset the mode to CW when you aren't looking.
