Lyle, KK7P responded to my question on where to find a suitable DMM:

And thanks to  

Elecraft for another outstanding feature. Unfortunately, The MDS
calculations using AFV were

identical to those using the Sears autoranging DMM. I'll discuss these with
Elecraft support 

to see if there is a fix.
