RC,

I assume this is a homebrew transceiver or some other non-Elecraft kit.  
If so, does it have a single 28 MHz port, or does it have connections 
for split TX and RX.

If it is a single 28 MHz port, then you can connect it to the 10 watt K3 
output and use an attenuator that is only in-line during transmit - it 
would take an extra relay to switch the attenuator in and out, but it 
can be done.  The attenuator should be able to handle the full 10 watt 
power from the K3.

If you have split TX/RX on the transveter, the easiest solution is to 
add the KXV3 or KXV3A (current model) to the K3 and use the split drive 
- that way you will not have to change the HF antenna connections to use 
the transverter.
