Chuck,

I use the key 2 line, key1 is jumpered to aux.  I put a steering diode inside the qsk-5 as well, but I don't remember where!  I suggest you call or email Ameritron--they'll tell you how to do it.  The qsk-5 manual is confusing.

8ms delay works fine.

One other warning--if you are using a W2 with the swr lock feature, DO NOT break the ptt line from the k3 to the qsk-5 switch to go through the W2.  If the w2 goes into swr lock you will fry the qsk-5 switch and see the fuse lamps light up the room.  

Instead, break the line going from the qsk-5 to the amplifier ptt to go through the w2.

The qsk-5 works great with the k3--silent, smooth QRO QSK.  I use it with my AL-1200.
