[Elecraft] [HAM] Question re BNC/Coax assembly

When I've carelessly assembled one of those, I didn't have enough of the
braid wrapped over the beveled ferrule at the end. The first time I happened
to have a twist in the coax, the torque broke off the braid strands and the
coax spun freely :-(

If that happens it may still show shield continuity, but only because the
broken ends are touching the inside of the shell. That's a weak connection
that will cause no end of troubles.

One benefit of years of experience is that we learn countless ways to get
something wrong...

Hi Don,

The nut is cinched down extremely tight, but I doubt I was very careful with
the cut dimensions. I'll check that next.
