Good Evening,
   Twenty meters was going well until I closed the Tom.  He went from decent copy to ESP in seconds.  In an email to confirm a serial number he told me the very same thing.  The band cut off quite sharply.  Forty meters, on the other hand, did not so much cut off as never turn on.  It was tough going.  I got to use the memory keyer on automatic for about ten minutes while I listened.  Lots of QRN but very few signals.  I did check in Pete on 7045.5 kHz but then got hammered by someone who obviously could not hear me at all.  I slid up to .66 and kept going.  Thanks for following along with me.  
   Today was cold but only some of the snow is still here.  Mostly it rained hard and I stayed next to the fire.  Right now it is toasty.  This morning I found the fire had hung in the middle of the night so it was 55 in here.  Getting the house warm again takes hours.  Sometimes the logs just don't self feed properly and the fire goes out.  It is nothing to get the remaining charcoal going but the massive thermal sink of the house takes quite a bit of heat to get warm again.  I close off many rooms but the main area is large enough that getting warm again can take a while.  So I cook something in the oven and do the laundry.  The extra heat helps the fire along.

   I am thinking I should not have changed the two nets with the time change from Daylight Savings Time.  Hmmm...  I will monitor the two bands at the earlier times.  This may help both nets become more active but who can tell?  As ever, if there are any errors please email me with the corrections.
