Gary S:
The fault I confronted and reported directly to you
yesterday has disappeared overnight so I'm reporting the story on the
Reflector for the benefit of others.
Event: Upon download of BETA
3.57/2.45/2.45.1.06/1.03, K3 #95 displayed an ERR IF 1 fault and the Noise
Blanker function was partly compromised. If one selected NB Level so as to
adjust the NB parameters, the display indicated the DSP settings for NB but
showed that the IF was N/A. I could change NB DSP settings with VFO A but I
could not change NB IF settings with VFO B. Using the CONFIG: KNB3 function
to turn the NB ON and OFF and recycling the power between selections endless
numbers of times last night, made no difference, nor did any of the other
button-pushing I engaged in..
Today when I turned #95 ON, the ERR IFF 1 fault display had
disappeared and the NB functions as advertised. And AM-S and all its
features including LSB/USB change using the Shift knob, Auto-Tracking via
CWT or tracking using SPOT, either in or out of Diversity Receive, all work
FB.
Here's the fix: the operator takes two aspirins, drinks a big
glass of water and goes to bed, which allows the radio some time to recover
its mind after a major disturbance.
