Seeing photos of neat old rigs (tnx Nick!) and the little wallet-size Ham
licenses the FCC issued back then, I'm reminded that those of us who had
commercial licenses - radiotelephone or radiotelegraph - often grumbled that
the Ham licenses were rather a disappointment compared to the fancy 8.5" X
11" engraved certificates we got for our commercial licenses. Many thought
they should all be the same, after all! 

Well, they got their wish. Now in the USA both the Ham licenses and the
Commercial licenses are the same little computer generated printouts.
(Although the Radiotelegraph licenses still have our signed photo attached
to the front.) 

Sigh!
