Hi Ron,

To receive (or transmit) ESSB and AM, you need the 6 kHz filter. If you 
have only the SSB filter, you can still set the DSP bandwidth (2nd 
I.F.) as high as 4.0 kHz, but the crystal filter will limit the first 
I.F. bandwidth to under 3 kHz.
