Yes. In the world of "high performance" VHF and UHF, 10 watts out from 
the transverter is pretty much a standard. The RF Concepts "brick" amps 
are excellent, include decent preamps, and sell for moderate prices in 
the used market. There are versions of these amps that will get you 170 
watts with 2W, 10W, or 35W drive. The older Mirage amps (pre-Mississippi) 
are also winners.

Yes. Lots of K3s are driving Ten Tec Titans, Herc IIs, and various models 
of Alphas. All are capable of full QSK using the delay built into the K3. 
I use a pair of K3s and Titan 425s in my shack for SO2R, and a Herc II 
for portable operation. I get full output from mine with 30-50 watts. 
Titans in good shape go for around $1,500 with their power supply, Herc 
IIs for around $800 without a power supply (they run on 13.8V). These are 
vintage amps (early 80s), well designed, transmit a clean signal, are 
well documented, and are fairly easy to work on.
