Good Evening,
Once I figured out my high SWR problem the first net went well. I was on the wrong antenna because I had last used the rig for MARS. After a few switches were flipped all was in order. I expected fewer check ins because of Mother's Day but was pleasantly surprised by Pete. I thought he would be travelling this week. He did mention he was off again soon so maybe he had to postpone one of his jaunts to the four corners of the earth. Send post cards Pete :)
According to Dick spring is still in abeyance in Colorado. Well, if life hands you snow wax your skis! Other reports around the country were of more pleasant weather. Here it has been nice for a couple days. In keeping with Pacific Northwest tradition rain is forecast for tomorrow! However, there is a silver lining to that storm: the biting flies hatched and were out yesterday. They only have a few weeks to mate before they die so a rainy day means I won't be upset with them biting me!

If there are any errors please email me with the corrections. The grouse have been drumming more vigorously during the last week. I am not sure of their schedule but they sure seem excited! The owls have been calling at night as have the frogs and toads. The deciduous trees are just starting to bloom with a few of them opening their leaves. I walked past my truck after the second net to listen to the quiet when I notice my windshield was yellow. I lifted the wiper and a landslide of pollen rolled down. I am glad I am not allergic to alder trees ;) The ferns are also getting started. A couple days ago there was no sign of them. Today they are 18 inches tall. When full grown they reach four feet. Slowly we are approaching summer. QRPTTF, 7QP, Dayton, Field Day, SeaPac, and then it gets warm.
Until next week stay well,
73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Station 5th Class)
