You were solid here anytime I heard you Dale.
nothing wrong with wire antennas, even the "lowly" dipole ;o) Uber short antennas may present more of a challenge, but lotsa great ear's out there.
I had a few more problems with the mobiles, but envisioned them in canyons or behind mountains from time to time ;o) (either natural or man made!)
QRP continually provides great surprises, lots of fun and a heck of a lot fewer RFI and other problems :o) Definitely easier to move around the world with a lil' QRP rig.
