Good Evening,
The nets this evening went rather well. Conditions were not all that bad on either 20 or 40 meters. On twenty Tom worked a number of stations but I was neither able to follow along with him nor copy him well enough to receive a list of his check ins. Thus the ... in the list. He will send me the list when he gets home. Forty meters had some heavy lightning strikes causing ear numbing QRN. QSB was mentioned on my signal from all over but I only had it on a few stations. Some of the stations I worked from the west were LOUD! At one point I heard a loud click in my headphones. I thought I had lost my right speaker! Luckily it continued working. Afterward I went outside to listen to the wind for a while.
Weather reports mentioned continuing progress toward spring. South of me there was the deluge we had up here the day before. On the back side of this front we are experiencing mild weather and hazy sunshine. Kind of cool but rather pleasant. Now that I am done with my coursework I can spend some time doing something else. However they want more classes and since I have the experience they are handing me the job. No rest for the wicked ;) Hopefully I can delegate to some worthy lackey(eys). Message handling class needs a rewrite but I was about to do that anyway. Thank you Carter :)

If there are any errors (I already know I need fills) please email them to me. I am going to enjoy getting my day back so I can work on something I want to work on instead of class work for a while. Six hours of lecturing takes its toll. Now to get out the chainsaw and lay waste to some brush which needs attention. I have the added benefit of heat for the house as well as healthy exercise. Cheaper than a gym where they would never let me play with a chainsaw :) Go figure, this is Oregon where Stihl is king. You'd think they would have more liberal policies toward tool use. Luckily I live in the boonies where it is required to own one. We are measured by the length of our bar! Now to buy some corks, slippers, and climbing spikes so I fit in. Next will come the suspenders and the cuffs of my jeans unthreaded.
   Until next week stay well,
      73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
