[Elecraft] K2 standard mic input = kenwood circuit - - what mic do you recommend?

Duane,
- that is not quite correct.
The K2 has a microphone configuration header which can be wired for many
microphone pinouts.
If all the pins are jumpered straight across, it will be the Elecraft
microphone pinout at the microphone jack.
The Elecraft mic pinout is *not* equal to Kenwood - it differs on pins 5
and 6. However, if the Kenwood microphone is of the unamplified dynamic
type, it will not use pins 5 and 6 and will work fine with the K2
"straight across" plugging of the mic configuration header. That is
what "compatibilty" means - most popular Kenwood mics will work, but not
*all* Kenwood mics.
The K2 microphone pinout can be wired to use just about any common
amateur microphone. The instructions are in the KSB2 manual.
Note: the K3 has a fixed microphone pinout - it is the Elecraft pinout,
no microhone configuration header in the K3.
