Good Evening,
I just got in from a walk around the property. It's not raining and the snow is mostly gone so I was able to traipse around without getting wet. It was too cold for the frogs to be singing but soon they will be back at it. It is nice to have so much light. Gives me a chance to do things after dinner. Now that the weather is getting a little better I can think about some antenna work. I would like to get the lower antenna down, repaired and back up again. It is fed by window line as compared to the other which is fed by coax into a balun. I like having a choice.
Conditions on twenty meters were not great this week for my morning sked but later in the day they got better. The fox hunters reported decent conditions on forty meters around net time so I hope that holds for tomorrow night. I am in the process of creating a course for the local ARES group on antennas and propagation. I am torn between including propagation prediction programs or not. I very rarely use them because I would rather just get on the air and find out what works. Since my course has grown so large and so long I have broken it into sections for two three hour classes. Hopefully I will not put them to sleep in the first few minutes when I introduce the vector forms of the Maxwell (Heaviside) Equations ;) But a little calculus never hurt anybody! Then I will back up the math with some demonstrations.

Please join us tomorrow evening.
