[Elecraft] Dielectric grease during K3 assembly??

I would recommend building the kit as described in the manufacturer's
assembly manual.  

I have no special knowledge about the grease you describe or whether it is a
good or a bad thing.   But the cardinal rule for this sort of thing is to
follow the manufacturer's procedure. That's what they've tested, that's what
they expect, and that's what they service without "surprises" like
unexpected goo.

On the other hand if the auto manufacturer recommends using such a grease,
by all means use it. On the automobile, not the K3.

You'll enjoy your K3 build.  Savor it!

I am new to amatuer radio, and just ordered a K3.  I feel like a kid at
christmas time waiting for santa... reviewing everything I can about the
"toy" that is coming.

Have been reading the past twenty or so mail list digests and have read the
assembly manual a couple of times to familiarize myself with it as much as
possible.

My background is in the automotive field, and the millivolts / milliamps in
the various circuits are sensitive to oxidation and fretting even in the
"weatherpak" connections used. To help prevent this we use a very small
amount of dielectric grease on connections. 

Nowhere in the manual have I come across any mention if using this, nor did
I find anything in searching the archives.

I would appreciate your thoughts on using dielectric grease during the
assembly process.
