Firmware versions are not being "exchanged between members of the list" or
"banded about." They are being sent by Wayne to customers who have reported
specific issues which these beta versions are meant to address.
It would not be in the interest of anyone to have these versions generally
available. It would not be in the best interest of list members in general,
because these are "works in progress" that have not been fully tested - kind
of like the Windows "hot fixes" you have to apply to Microsoft to get. They
are being sent out privately because those who have raised a specific issue
are more likely to provide useful feedback on that particular aspect of the
firmware than those who have not.
