Hi Willis,
Tnx for the feedback. Interesting. Based on what you say below I took off
the  antenna and turned off the preamp. No thumping. Even with the antenna
off (shorted So-239) and the preamp on I get thumping. Turning the AGC OFF
or ON has no impact. Tried this on 160M and 6M. If the preamp is ON and the
Atten is ON I get thumping.
And I get the same results whether in TEST mode or transmitting.

I have a hard time remembering that to get to the reflector I need to add
the address or choose sent to all.  Here is my answer to Toby.  By the way,
I have a hearing loss, but not to bass.  I can't hear anything above about
2700 Hz.  I get SSB fidelity all the time.
