And remote operation so the amp doesn't have to be in the shack like an Acom
2000A. Saves on heat and space in the shack.

All in good time. Some things can't be rushed. Most things shouldn't be
rushed. I would rather wait and have it be the best.
There is a lot of competition in some of these products and "we" don't want
to be an "also ran". How do you pick your market slot? Inexpensive? Most
features? Or somewhere in between? Can you create an amp that will satisy
everybody? I don't think so.
I would figure an Elecraft SS amp would be microprocessor controlled. OK,
now we have input frequency display?, automatic band detection and changing,
built in automatic tuning, LOTS of memories, full metering, SWR, Power,
band, antenna selection. Built in automatically selected dummy load during
antenna tuning. AND all for that for $999.
I think amps are like wives - they are all different and you are not likely
to get one that has or does everything on your list. But, maybe Wayne can
add it.
