I agree on this.
The 2.1 will give you better audio if you need it. It will, as a roofing
filter, perform just as well in a heavy ssb contest as a 1.8 .

I find 1.8 of little use unless stations have signals with highs greatly
boosted, like in contest signals. Unless  winning the contests is a
priority, 2.1 is IMHO a much more comfortable choice. Ignacy
