That might work and allow for more flexibility if you moved the rig to
another location and were not using the MK2R or other MH product.

Why redo the connector?
Just create jumper cable with a connector to plug in the existing Microham
cable, then a connector to plug into the K3.
Add the wires from the K3 connector you want and pass the wires to the
microham cable connector that microHam needs.
This way you leave the microHam cable intact.

Thanks for the heads up Mike!!! I just got the K3R cable and was going to be
doing the same thing for the AuxBus line. I guess MH did this to help keep
the wires from breaking of the connector but you are 100% correct, it makes
access to the other connections impossible without completely redoing the
connector with a new one.
Doing it this way was a bad move IMHO. I may just replace them connector
with RCAs and use my LDG breakout box.
