Hi Andy,
No argument on the advantages/disadvantages of using WKUSB with the K3. But you don't "have" to have it, even with a USB to serial interface.
Too, I haven't any experience with Vista and WKUSB, so can't make an experienced comment on that combo.
My experiences with loading the drivers is simply noted to save someone else the headache some of us have had...
