[Elecraft] KX-1 what do you use for an antenna when you're in a place with no trees to throw the vertical up?

Yes. This is a winner!  Tape a wire to it, and run some radials to 
act as a counterpoise. I have a zip-lock bag filled with lengths of 
#22 for exactly this purpose. Works great!
