Talk to Tom Rauch (W8JI) about his "heavily modified" R-4C.     2Khz  
IMDR of 118dB, 2Khz BDR of 127dB.  Too bad you can't buy one of these  
off the shelf :-)

Maybe SDR is still just playing catch up (?)  ... :-)
