[Elecraft] Transverter offset

I need to put in an offset for 1296EME into the transmitted signal.
My question is, I am using VFO B in a split frequency, ie transmitting on B and receiving on A.
Can I put the offset into VFO B or does the transverter offset only apply to VFO A. I feel the manual is not
clear on this point.
