[Elecraft] [K3] K3: Carry-on

On my 3 flights from heathrow to Dallas Jan thro Nov this year they have
been VERY strict on the "one item of carry on, which includes purses,
computer bags etc" rule. This has resulted on one occasion of my 2nd checked
bag containing only an empty laptop bag, which had customs at DFW examining
the case linings very carefully!

Bringing the K3 to England for christmas this year (in its padded bag inside
my computer backpack) I was amused when the TSA took it out of the bag,
after I told him it was a ham transceiver, picked it up with 2 hands and
said "this is a much lighter radio than Hams usually try and take to the
caribbean"

Following the recent bomb attempt it has been reported on the BBC today that
only one item of hand luggage is now being permitted on flights to the USA.
