Try this....

Instead of reading, just ALWAYS press the button in the upper
right-hand-most corner.  Nothing to remember other than "use the
corner button."

Of course if you want to overwrite the memory, NOTHING will happen
when you use the "corner" button and then can say, "OH, use the other
one."  But for 99% of the time, you want M>V, so just think "top
right-hand corner."  Soon, you won't have to think at all, you can do
it by rote or feel.

Works for me.
