Larry,

If your speaker is not getting turned off when you plug headphones in,
you probably have CONFIG:SPKR+PH set to "yes". Try changing that to
"no".

It is NOT normal for the main receiver to be absent from line out.
Make sure you are looking at the left channel (should be on the tip of
the connector). The main RX should be on the left channel, and the sub
on the right (ring).
