Larry, If you don't have any audio cables connected between your line in/out on the K3 and sound card plugs on your system, then you are getting your audio from the microphone on your laptop computer. Just speak into your laptop computer and you will see it in your software. The mic is picking up the audio from the K3's speaker. 73 Dave KD1NA
