Yes, that is what basically happened, These are the types of things that
happen when you've been playing with tube based gear your whole life then
you find yourself with one of these Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century
devices.

Are you sure that you don't have the wrong antenna selected on 20m in your
K3?
