FWIW, on K3 #1595 (ordered 7 May, Katiegram 27 August, arrived 5 September,
on the air 6 September), I found the leads on the TCXO (standard 5 ppm
version) to be too long as well, so I trimmed a bit (maybe 3/32" or so) off
each one before installing the TCXO. I told myself that if disaster struck
and it didn't work, I would order the 1 ppm TCXO to replace it, but so far
it has been doing just fine here.
