[Elecraft] K3 bug mode there (sort of)?

Those who absolutely want to use the K3 in a "bug" mode for CW might try
this-- at your own risk.  

Single lever paddles only.
1) connect paddle dit side to the keyer jack dit side
2) connect paddle dash side to key jack 
3) ground to paddle common.

Dual lever paddles can short 1) and 2) together and shouldn't be used
without some kind of isolation.
