[Elecraft] K1, ?? Sleep Mode???

Michael,
Sorry to report that the K1 does not have any sleep or hibernation state
- it should always be 'ready to go' as long as it is powered on.
What do you do to recover once the problem condition is reached?
Behavior of that nature *could* be the result of a poor solder
connection that is temperature sensitive, or it could be oxidation on a
socketed IC lead. Try re-seating any socketed component to wipe away
any oxidation. If you cover the K1 with an overturned Styrofoam
encolsure, does the condition happen more rapidly? If you first cool
the K1 (put it in the refrigerator) and then turn it on, is the time
period to failure longer? If the answer to one or both these questions
is yes, then you have a temperature related problem.
