[Elecraft] Deaf K3 #768

I reported to the list on Sunday, a 'deaf' K3. The impact of this was
receive levels at about 50dB down from stations measured on my spare
receiver - slightly better with the pre-amp on. Elecraft support asked me to
remove the KXV3 and jumper J66 pins 8-10, 13-15. Receiver sensitivity back
to normal - phew! Board replacement necessary. 

 

This will somewhat limit my antenna configuration for CQWW this coming
weekend - I like to use a horizontal wire on 40m receive - although I guess
I could use the Antenna B position? 

 

Although the supply of the replacement board is not yet finalised, I must
commend Gary Surrency from support for his patience and diligence in helping
me fault find and resolving the issue. Nice people to deal with.
