[Elecraft] K3: WPX CW

WPX CW was also my first contest effort with the K3.  I'm impressed.
Only operated 13 hours with my feeble temporary stealth antennas, but had a
good time.  Ran 100 W on 40, 20 and 15.  I have the 500 Hz and 1 KHz
filters, and mostly used a BW of 250 or 300 Hz for S&P and 500 or 600 Hz for
running, depending on the activity and noise levels.
40 was quite noisy here (Colorado) also at times.  In spite of that worked
more than the usual amount of European and Pacific DX on 40.  Sunday AM was
especially good.  Ended up with 430 Qs and 223 Multipliers.
The transmitter stayed cool and quiet the entire time - seemed to be loafing
;>)  Good ergonomics for contesting in terms of tuning and BW selection.  I
was using serial rig control from my logging program and keying via USB
WinKey.  Internal tuner and antenna selection was a treat, as I was using
two different antennas on each band and switching between them for best
signal level with the K3 front panel switch.
Looking forward to Sweepstakes with more than the usual anticipation ;>)
