[Elecraft] receiver distortion

No wonder it sounds  poor....   Your using the cheap "junk"!!!

Also the input to the power supply has to be addressed also. I would 
recommend these:

Hopefully they will have designed a heavy duty 220 Volt model for when 
the  Elecraft linear becomes
available.
