Hi,
I finally did another project on my K2 #4130. I was tired of using a serial
cable for just basic control of my K2 with Hamradio Deluxe.
I integrated an internal bluetooth interface bound to the KIO2. So, I am
still able to use the KIO2 as usual OR via bluetooth connection with my
CF-30 laptop. Since I don't have the internal battery installed in my K2, I
used the ON/OFF switch for other purpose..... to activate or desactivate the
internal bluetooth feature inside my K2. So if I don't need the bluetooth
interface and want to save about 50-70 mA.... I have just to turn to OFF
position and that's it !!
The interface is powered from the 5V line on the control board. That way, I
can still monitor how current it takes by switching ON and OFF the interface
and look at the K2 internal meter display.
This interface is fully compatible with all software... including Hamradio
Deluxe.
A good thing also is Windows recognize the interface as a «remote control»
interface using serial protocol...... And I also include my own brand and
name inside interface firmware. Windows always see this piece of
hardware..... «ELECRAFT K2 SN:4130» !!!!
If you want to take a sneek peek at my pictures.... just click the link

The integration was very straight foward. And you do not loose nothing, even
the external DB9 connector... can't use serial protocol on both at the same
time for sure, that's logical.... but can use the DB9 with the control cable
for the KPA100 and the bluetooth for the remote control at the same time.
Another clumsy project from me....
Any comment are welcome.
See you at Dayton !!!!
