[Elecraft] K3 FM filter required for full AM receive width

I'm a little confused....Are you saying that eventhough the display says
10kHz, it's really not unless you have the FM filter and if it's not 10kHz,
then what is it if I use the 6kHz filter. If it's really not then why
display it?
