When working FM through the XV144, Ian, you will need to keep the power 
down as the XV144 will not support a 100% duty cycle very long.
I also find it a bit of a nuisance having to go into CONFIG:XV1 PWR to 
reduce the drive rather than being able to do it with the PWR knob. For 
that reason I have put that menu option into the PF2 preset.

I also had my first FM QSO on 2m this morning with my K3/XV144 but you 
need to keep overs very short or speak softly into the mike ;-)

I have had cut-out problems with the XV144 previously when driving it 
too hard on SSB. Perhaps a small fan might be worth considering.
