(I'll add that K8MFO is a fellow low-band addict and excellent CW op. I
highly respect Don's opinion. I bought my EX-29 before seeing his comments
but agree completely with them).
I agree with others that in-ear phones are the absolute best for maximum
isolation, but the Direct Sound EX-29 is nearly as good (29 dB isolation
versus mid-30's for the Etymotic ER-6 which I also have). The Etymotic
doesn't irritate my ears like some people but the EX-29 is definitely more
convenient to use. Either of these will run circles around Bose or any
other active noise-canceling headsets.
