[Elecraft] K3 SSB Noise Reduction

Can anybody explain to me why with NR engaged  SSB signal drop's in volume significantly. AF volume has to be readjusted every time the NR is turned ON and than again when is turned off.
NR is on F1-1.
I don't believe that this is normal.
