all that info is in the owners manual (pg 40 in mine), if you have the  
KAT3, both ant 1 & 2 go through it (although the L-Network is switch  
to Tx ant while is transmitting).
If you have the KXV3, you can have an additional RX only ant on that -  
it does not go through the KAT3.

Not quite sure of your last question - gut feel says that would make  
sense - but until I get my KRX3, not sure

You can Mix'N Match to your hearts content - all controlled via firmware
