Be sure your CONFIG: AGC PLS is set to NORmal.  What you are describing
sounds like the AGC pop issue Rob Sherwood discovered in some DSP rigs.  The
K3 has a firmware mod which eliminates this but the menu must be set as
above (default setting unless you accidentally changed it).
