You could try the Foxit Reader http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php
. It's useful if you want a small and lightweight reader for Acrobat files
instead of the Adobe bloatware. I haven't tried this feature but the
write-up suggests you can annotate PDF files with it, which is not the same
as editing them, but at least it might allow you to add notes from the
errata sheet.
