Hi Eric and everyone,
I retried the download this morning, and everything went perfectly. :-)
I don't know what caused my CPU lockup yeaterday, but I doubt it was due to
my USB/seial port adapter, or anything to do with the Elecraft loader
utility, because they have been working fine here for some time. I suspect
it may have had something to do with my firewall (which seems to be a bit
aggressive), or maybe even my screen saver (fish) kicking in at the wrong
moment. Anyway, all is well now.
I have tried most of the new features and set up my mike-gain/compression to
4/15. It sounds great on another receiver. Haven't tried it on the air
yet.
What a great radio! It gets better and better! Thanks Elecraft!
And, many thanks to Eric and everone who responded to my rather panicky note
last evening.
73, John, W2GW
