I have an RCA phono socket mounted just below the (unused) transverter out
socket. The transverter holes are too big for any standard audio output
socket. And having the socket on the top half of the case means one more
thing to disconnect when you take the top off. Drilling a hole to mount the
socket on the bottom half allows the cable to be routed neatly round the
edges, and left in place whenever you remove the top.
