Good Evening,
Yesterday and today we have had sunny weather. Not too warm so I still need a fire and a jacket but it is nice to see the sun. The forecast states we may get more of the same for the rest of the week. Now to attack my lawn before I have to rent a sickle bar and a tractor! I have found some flowering trees on my property. The windstorm of two years ago exposed them to light and now they are blooming away happily. I also found some seedlings from them as I was taking a bearing on a nearby mountain.
It is so clear today I can see in to the valleys opened by the recent clearcuts. I found I was mistaken in thinking I was seeing Mount Adams. I am really seing Mount Saint Helens. Too bad it no longer has a top or it would be very impressive from here. I had never seen it so clearly and had thought I was seeing the rounded top of Adams. But instead of the smoothly rounded top I saw some crenelation so I got the compass. They are almost in a line from here thus a few degrees one way or another is important.
I have listened to my radios only a little this week. Forty meters was open while twenty did not offer as many signals. Hopefully we are still in the E season so I can work more closely on twenty meters. We may have a check in from Eastern Oregon. Karl said he would be hot tub mobile with his KX1. I am not sure how mobile he is going to be while lying there soaking :) I just hope he does not drop his rig into his lap I doubt lithium batteries would take kindly to the bath.
Please join us tomorrow evening.
