[Elecraft] K3: Working with memories

I am running with the latest beta 2.02 on my K3. I'm delighted by the
change to the firmware which enables me to run through the * memories simply
by spinning VFO A.

However, in qso with a station on 5.39850 this evening I found that I was
unable to change any settings e.g. compression, filter bandwidth etc.
without pressing M>V. Cannot it be possible in the next update to allow a
change to settings stored in the memory for that session only. I hope I've
made my point clearly. Certainly that's the way I've known memories work
before, each memory 'channel' is like another vfo except that next time you
go back there the settings return to those which were stored at the time
when the memory was last stored.

I'm really enjoying the K3 and all its evolutions (are you allowed evolution
on the other side of the 'pond'?! - a professor friend of mine at Florida
State tells me otherwise.....)
